I’m really proud of the fact that we work with many out-of-state clients. It tells me that there is something about our style that appeals to people around the country – and that’s a good feeling! Paula and Michael came to New Orleans to get married from Chicago. We didn’t get to meet until their rehearsal the evening before the wedding. As you can see, our luck keeps going strong weather-wise and everything looked great in the court yard of the Royal Sonesta Hotel. Let me say right here that Wyeth, Becky and the whole staff at the Royal Sonesta couldn’t have been better to work with!

After getting some equipment set-up, Mendy and I headed up to the room to meet up with Paula. We took the dress out onto the balcony for some unique shots. Paula’s dress had so much detail that I wanted to include several different looks.

Here is a very different look for us!

While Mendy spent some time with the girls, I took the bride’s bouquet for a little one-on-one time. The florist for this event was Fabulous Flowers and they were really fabulous!

If you think that Paula’s dress looked great on the hanger, well it looked that much better on her! I love the simple, elegant veil as well.

This is where Paula decided that she would just “Act like a Model”. I told her that was a great idea and, if she was going to do that, I’d act like a fashion photographer from England named ‘Nigel’! Hey, why not? :-)
She really did look like a model as this image demonstrates.

***Note to future brides; be cool, relaxed and have fun – like Paula and her girls! This is a special day, don’t be afraid to try different types of photo – we only get one shot at this! Be bold!
This may be my favorite bridesmaid photo of ALL TIME!

However, this would be a very close second!

Paula was so laid back and relaxed. She really was like a model!

Ok, maybe we took the whole ‘model’ thing a bit too far, but I think it is just GREAT!

In keeping with the kind of musical theme of this wedding, it seemed like a good idea to take photos of the rings on the piano as well.

After we finished the “photo shoot” with the girls, we went up to find the guys and spend a little time with them.

Ladies and Gentleman, let me introduce Michael to you – certainly one of the coolest grooms we’ve had the pleasure of working with. ![]()

The courtyard was all set up and ready for this special ceremony – more on that in part two. (that’s called a teaser and it is designed to get you to come back to our blog for another visit soon!)

We’ll have part 2 (the ceremony) available to view soon!
